The structure, heating process, temperature control and atmosphere of the normalizing furnace will directly affect the quality of processed products. While forging furnace, the way of loading and unloading the metal, the choice of the control system, and increasing the heating temperature of the metal can reduce the deformation resistance, but too high temperature will cause the grain to grow, oxidize or over burn, thus will seriously affect the quality of the work piece.

In the heat treatment process of the normalizing furnace, if the steel is heated to a certain point above the critical temperature and then abruptly cool down, the hardness and strength of the steel can be increased; if the steel is slowly cooled after being heated to a certain point below the critical temperature, the hardness of the steel can be reduced and the toughness can be improved.

Compared with electric furnaces, fuel furnaces with good design and correct operation can also achieve higher technical and economic benefits in terms of thermal performance. Some energy-saving measures for normalizing furnaces, such as improving production management and operation methods, adopting light or ultra-light refractory linings, improving furnace sealing performance, improving furnace structure and rationally arranging combustion devices, are suitable for the energy-saving requirements of industrial electric furnaces
